Creating content is easy and pointless

That's what many think… but I've worked with over 50,000 content creators and can attest that it's not easy, and it is relevant.
I always knew that their work required discipline, strategy, and creativity.
But I didn't truly understand what it meant to create content until I tried it myself
The first time I published content on Instagram for RealUp Media, I felt terrified. What if no one interacts? How do I connect? What if they don't like it?
That's when I understood something that completely changed how I work with creators: One thing is to see it from the outside. Another thing entirely is to expose yourself.
Creating content isn't just having an idea and posting it. It's continuing to create when something doesn't perform. When there are no immediate results. When your brain tells you "okay, stop."
Behind each piece there is intention, trial, error, measurement, and trying again.
It's not improvisation. It's real work.
Three things any brand or C-level should understand
1. Trust them
They know their audience better than you do. Your role is not to control the message, it's to align objectives and give them space to translate it.
2. Treat it as a serious channel
Content requires strategy, consistency, and constant measurement. It's not "nice to have." It's a real growth channel.
3. Put yourself in their shoes, even if just a little
Try creating content. Even just once. It completely changes how you lead campaigns and how you value their work. It generates more empathy with creators and leads to better decisions.
The next time you see a creator's post, remember:
They're not "just uploading a video."
They're taking the risk of exposing themselves, testing, optimizing, and building something valuable.
That deserves respect.
